The UNIVERGE WL5100 Controller is the intelligence behind WOA. Working along with connected Access Points (APs), it ensures voice call prioritization, fast handover and call admission bandwidth control-all critical to high-quality wireless voice.
The WOA utilizes the WL5100 Controller to bring a new level of intelligence to network design. WOA routes management packets to the UNIVERGE WL5100 while intelligently routing media packets directly between Access Points (APs). This feature relieves bottlenecks on the network while it reduces delay and jitter for the high quality voice communications you've come to expect from NEC.
WOA network elements include UNIVERGE WL APs (WL1500s) and UNIVERGE WL Controllers. One of those controllers is the UNIVERGE WL5100. With support of as many as 180 WL APs, the WL5100 Controller ensures true centralized management while it makes network scalability a reality. You have a growth path that takes you from small networks with WL1700 APs and MPS Blade Controller networks to large enterprise-size networks.
