MultiSync LCD6520 Delivers Full HD 1080p Image Performance, Digital Signage

Hong Kong, 13th March 2008 – NEC Hong Kong Limited is offering LCD flat screens in the impressive size of 65 inches in the form of the new NEC MultiSync® LCD6520L and MultiSync® LCD6520P. With the MultiSync® LCD6520P (Portrait) model, the public display manufacturer is launching the largest monitor available on the market, which can be installed in portrait format. The NEC MultiSync® LCD6520L (Landscape) on the other hand, is technically optimised for the requirements of horizontal monitor installations. Both public displays shine with pictures in 1080p quality and are ideally suited for digital signage applications. They are well equipped for demanding, long-term operation thanks to the professional ASV TFT panel and high-quality components.

With today's wealth of information, creative ideas and innovative technologies are necessary in order to be able to communicate efficiently and quickly. Printed posters have long had an advantage over LCD public displays in the advertising field on account of their size. This has all changed with the new LCD flat screens in 65-inch format from NEC Display Solutions, as here the user can choose either vertical (MultiSync®LCD6520P) or horizontal (MultiSync® LCD6520P) installation. The new models can therefore provide a full-size replacement for static and inflexible advertising hoardings up to a diagonal of 165 cm, and communicate the content in a lively and attractive manner.

The NEC MultiSync®LCD6520P has been specially developed for installation in portrait mode. The backlight and the components fitted are intended for vertical mounting. The integral multi-stage fan controller protects the IT investment even in demanding environments, and enables the display to achieve a life of up to 60,000 hours. The public display can therefore be installed upright in large reception halls and shopping malls, or in public areas such as airports and railway stations. Dynamic content is presented to the viewer in an attractive format, while the display attracts everybody's attention thanks to its size. With the NEC MultiSync®LCD6520L, NEC Display Solutions guarantees maximum flexibility and gives customers the option to install the monitor horizontally (landscape). In the landscape version, the display is ideally suited for public broadcasts, video conferences and digital signage applications.

The LCD6520 is embedded with NEC's Digital Signage Technology Suite (DSTS), which includes more than 20 features and functions developed specifically for digital signage, making the display ideal for the transportation, corporate, medical, retail, and hospitality markets. When used in digital signage applications, these features create a lower cost of ownership by eliminating the need for additional and sometimes expensive third-party components.

Crystal-clear images in 1080p quality make both LCD models a real eye-catcher. With a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels at a maximum brightness of 450 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 2000:1, the LCD public displays transmit video data in brilliant quality even in bright surroundings. With 6-millisecond response time, and Ambix+™ Technology, which supports both digital and analog inputs. The professional ASV TFT panel of the NEC MultiSync® LCD6520L and MultiSync® LCD6520P has been specially designed for long periods of operation. Its high viewing angle of 176 degrees ensures an optimum picture from almost any perspective. The flat screens also have sRGB support as well as a programmable LUT and a wide colour temperature range (2,600k – 10,000k). A so-called option slot enables a single board computer (SBC), an NEC CAT 5 receiver, an HDSDI card or even a DVI daisy chain board to be incorporated. NEC Display Solutions therefore offers the optimum solution for individual requirements every time.
