NEC Hong Kong Limited (hereafter call "NEC") provides Warranty services to customers who buy NEC products from an authorized dealer. The Warranty set out in these terms and conditions will be valid for one year from the date of purchase of the product for defects in hardware only.
2.
NEC provides 90 days limited telephone technical support from the factory preload software. On-site technical support and consultation services as per customer's request will be subjected to charge.
3.
NEC's Warranty service will only be valid when the date of purchase, model and serial number of product correspond with that of the official purchase receipt and the customer has completed the registration process successfully.
4.
NEC's Warranty services cover only those defects which arise as a result of normal use of the product in the judgment of our technician, and do not apply to any:
ˇE
Deduction of normal use, operation system, software, application, data from customers and virus damage excluded from this warranty.
ˇE
Improper or inadequate maintenance;
ˇE
Product or any part(s) thereof are modified, tampered with, altered, converted or repaired in anyway by anybody other than NEC staff or NEC authorized service providers;
ˇE
Damage resulting from the use of inappropriate voltage, power interruption, failure to follow operating instructions, accident or force majeure beyond NEC's control;
ˇE
Subsequent breakdown of the product caused by third-party hardware or software related problems, or any damage or malfunction to any products which are connected to the product; and
ˇE
Optional units and accessories such as power cables, external power adapters, interface cables, batteries, video cables, covers/cabinets, remote control units, chargers, LCD display, carrying cases, lamps, consumable parts or any other accessories used in connection with the product.
(NEC reserves the right to amend the list of consumables, optional units and ith the product.

5.
If NEC receives, during the applicable warranty period, notice of a defect in a hardware product or parts which are covered by NEC's Warranty,
NEC shall either repair or replace the parts, at its option. Any replacement parts may be either new or like-new, provided that it has functionality at
least equal to that of the parts being replaced.
6.
All replaced components, parts or other units are the property of NEC.
7.
For products requiring on-site services, the customer should not relocate the Product to a new registered address without the prior written notice
to NEC. (Remarks: The on-site service is applicable to the product in Hong Kong.)
8.
NEC is not obliged to maintain or repair any part(s) of the Product if :
ˇE
The damage is caused by the customers's negligence and misuse of the product or incurred during transportation of the product not carried out by NEC; or
ˇE
The product is not supplied by NEC or its authorized dealers.
9.
Liability:
ˇE
Notwithstanding anything herein contained, NEC shall not be liable to the user or any third party whoever for any physical or other damage,
injury or failure to provide maintenance in respect of any act, omission or negligence of any technician, employee or independent contractor of
NEC relating to the performance or purported performance of any obligations under this Warranty;
ˇE
Customers shall bear the risk and be responsible for all damage, injury or loss (including consequential loss, loss of profit, injury or damage)
arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the service, delivery, or use of the product; and
ˇE
In any event, NEC's maximum liability hereinunder this Warranty shall be restricted to the replacement value of the product.
10.
This Warranty is valid and enforceable in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China ("Hong Kong") and shall not extend to anyone other than the original purchaser of this product. NEC shall be entitled to transfer or assign all its rights and obligations under this Warranty to any company in Hong Kong which is associated with NEC.
11.
NEC shall not be responsible or liable for any insurance coverage in relation to the product and the customer shall obtain such insurance as the customer see fit.
12.
The Warranty expressly provided herein is the sole warranty provided in connection with the product, and no other warranty, expressed or implied, is provided.
13.
The terms and conditions of the Warranty are renewable upon expiration subject to payment of a fee determined by NEC, and are subject to change by NEC without prior notice.
14.
NEC reserves the right to terminate the Warranty in the event of any uncertainty or doubt as to the applicability of these terms and conditions.
15.
This Warranty shall be construed and governed by the laws of Hong Kong.
Notebook's LCD Monitors Pixels
1.
To test screen for dead pixels, use these guidelines (Dead Pixels are Pixels that are always black) :
1.1.
During the RED,BLUE, and GREEN color test check for dead pixel by at each color screen count the number of the element that is dead. If the total number of dead elements is under 6, the screen passes. If the number of the elements is 6 or over, the screen fails.
1.2.
During the color tests, if two dead elements of the same color are connecting, the screen fails.
1.3.
During the test if two dead elements of the same color are within 6.5MM(use tool to determine this), the screen fails.
2.
To test for screen for hot pixels, use these guidelines (Hot pixels are pixels that are always on) :
2.1.
During the RED, BLUE, and GREEN color test check for hot pixel by at each color screen counts the number of element that is hot. If the total number of hot elements is under 6, the screen passes. If the number of elements is 6 or over, the screen fails.
2.2.
During the color tests, if two hot elements of the same color are connecting, the screen fails.

During the test if two hot elements of the same color are within 6.5mm (use tool to determine ths), the screen fails.
3.
If a screen has 1 hot and 1 dead element connected the screen passes.
4.
If more than 2 are connected, the screen fails
5.
If a screen has more than 6 or worse pixel combination of hot/dead, the screen fails.
Limited Warranty for NEC Mobile Phone
NEC Hong Kong Limited will offer customers a one-year maintenance service. This is to warrant that this NEC
mobile phone and / or its NEC accessories (hereinafter called the ˇ§productˇ¨) is fully functional and is free from defects in material and workmanship. Our obligation under this warranty shall be limited to the owner, except the specifically mentioned, to repair or replace, free of charge, within One Year* from the date of purchase, any part or parts, of the said equipment that in our judgment show evidence of such defect. The defective part or parts, after replacement, shall be returned to
NECare Services.
*The limited warranty for NEC battery packs & handsfree headset extends for the first six months beginning from the date of purchase of the ˇ§productˇ¨.

CONDITIONS OF GUARANTEE:
(1) This limited warranty shall not apply to any of the following:
(a)
If the ˇ§productˇ¨ has been explicitly or implicitly modified, assembled or repaired in any way by persons other than technicians or authorized technicians of NEC.
(b)
The IMEI or Serial Number has been altered, removed or is different from the one marked on the ˇ§productˇ¨.
(c)
The Liquid Detection Label decolorized or if the "product" has been damaged through misuse, abnormal use, exposure to moisture or dampness, excessive temperature, negligence, abuse, accident, pressure (e.g., any crack or scratch is being found in the LCD display or on the casing of mobile phone), shocks or contamination of any kind and normal wear and tear of the "product".
(d)
The warranty does not apply to the external antennas, handsfree cable.
(e)
The defect or damage was caused by defective function of the cellular system or by inadequate signal reception by the external antenna.
(f)
The ˇ§productˇ¨ was used with or connected to accessory not supplied by NEC, not fit for use with NEC mobile phones or used in other than its intended use.
(2) Repaired item will be warranted for the balance of the original warranty period or for ninety (90) days from the date of repair, whichever is longer.
(3) The customer must provide purchase receipt or other information to prove the date and place of purchase.
(4) Transportation, delivery and handling charges incurred in the transport of the ˇ§productˇ¨ to and from NECare Services will be borne by the customer.
(5) If a problem develops during the limited warranty period, the customer should take the following step-by-step procedure.
(a)
The customer shall return the ˇ§productˇ¨ to the place of purchase for repair or replacement processing.
(b)
If ˇ§aˇ¨ is not convenient, the customer may contact NECare Services.
(6) NEC Hong Kong Limited shall not be liable for any incidental, consequential, indirect or special damages, loss or impairment of privacy of conversations, work stoppage or loss or impairment of data arising from the use or inability to use the ˇ§productˇ¨.
(7) This limited warranty will only be valid in Hong Kong.
(8) All warranty information, product features and specifications are subject to change without notice.
