Since my arrival at NEC Hong Kong over a year ago, I have been truly thrilled and gratified at the exciting changes taking place in this region.

In line with Hong Kong's traditional embrace of cutting-edge technologies, we are seeing a real transformation in our own business operations as well from that of a computer and communications supplier to a comprehensive business solutions provider, focusing on three key areas: IT solutions, Network solutions, and PC and display products solutions..

These solutions are helping us to realise a new era of the 'ubiquitous networking society'. This is all being made possible through an exciting convergence of optical and IP networks, mobile and fixed communications, broadcasting and communications, as well as information and communications. We are confident that these emerging trends will help bolster our growth potential substantially both here in Hong Kong and in China.

Despite all this, cutting-edge technology is essentially meaningless if it doesn't positively affect people's lives. That's why we follow a fundamental philosophy of making sure our customers enjoy full satisfaction with all NEC products and services. We achieve this goal by making our customers the focus of every action and decision we take.

I am also proud to work with such dedicated people in Hong Kong who strive so hard to achieve another key NEC cornerstone - 'corporate social responsibility'. By giving back to the community in which we live and work and by fostering trusting, long-term relationships with all our stakeholders, we can significantly enhance our overall corporate value and good standing within the community.

For me personally, the best aspect of working for NEC Hong Kong is knowing that our products, services and innovations are helping to develop and enhance the world we live in every day.

I am indeed encouraged at Hong Kong's pace of development and growth and am confident that NEC Hong Kong will continue to play a major contributing role in the future.
